A vibrant secondary school in Newham (E13) is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join their supportive team. The school is known for its positive atmosphere, strong community values, and commitment to ensuring that all students excel academically and personally.

Role and Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring a safe and purposeful learning environment.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, maintaining student engagement and managing behaviour effectively.
• Uphold school policies and procedures, fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom culture.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress during cover lessons.

Person Specification

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students (ideally in a classroom setting) is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
• An adaptable and calm approach to tackling challenges or behavioural issues.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people in their learning and development.
• Degree-level education or relevant qualifications/experience in education (advantageous but not essential).
