SEN Teaching Assistants – Full Time (Minimum 2 Years UK Experience Required)

Chalk are recruiting experienced, full-time SEN Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Cheshire and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for dedicated professionals who have a minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in UK schools and are available to work full-time during term time.

Job Description

In this role, you will provide vital support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) both in and out of the classroom. You’ll work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities, promote inclusion, and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.

You may also lead small group or one-to-one sessions, helping pupils to achieve their individual learning goals.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting SEN pupils in UK schools
• Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, term time)
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH and/or challenging behaviour
• Ideally trained in de-escalation or positive handling
• A positive attitude and flexible approach
• Confidence with personal care when required

Additional requirements:

• References confirming suitability for the role
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service
• Eligibility to work in the UK
