Chalk Education is working alongside a provision based in Guildford, whose staff are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive. We are seeking several compassionate and dedicated Behavioural Support Workers to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as other special educational needs. You must be committed to creating a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH needs in the classroom and during individual sessions.
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Foster positive relationships with students to encourage their emotional and social development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to implement support strategies.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH or other SEND.
- Experience managing challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
- Ability to implement positive behaviour support strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
