An exceptional specialist school in Camberley, Surrey provides high-quality education for children with a range of additional needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD), behavioural challenges (EBD), and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). They are currently seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join their team!
Job Description
This supportive and inclusive Specialist School offers excellent facilities and a nurturing environment for pupils aged 4 to 19 with a diverse range of SEND.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone with SEND experience, whether personal or professional. Knowledge of alternative communication techniques or manual handling would be a great advantage.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the class teacher, encouraging students to engage in various activities while fostering a sense of empowerment, support, and enthusiasm for learning.
As a valued team member, you will play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people—helping them build confidence, develop independence, and thrive on their learning journey!
To be considered for this Autism Support Worker role, you will need:
- Experience supporting young people with Autism & Learning Disabilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A caring and positive attitude with a flexible approach
Additional Requirements:
- References confirming suitability for the role
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one (we can assist!)
- Commitment to Safeguarding
