Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEND school in Cheshire East. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Our client school is an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ multi-site SEND provision, supporting pupils aged 4–19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). All students have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school is committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Alongside a dedicated staff team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom-based support to pupils with Autism and complex needs.

  • Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence through structured activities.

  • Support pupils during break and lunch times, fostering social and emotional development.

  • Assist with personal care, always maintaining dignity and respect.

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider team to create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism.

  • Confidence and sensitivity when providing personal care.

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.

Additional requirements:

  • Suitable references confirming your experience.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • Right to work in the UK.
