We are currently seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEND school in Cheshire East. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Our client school is an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ multi-site SEND provision, supporting pupils aged 4–19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). All students have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school is committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Alongside a dedicated staff team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Role Responsibilities

Provide classroom-based support to pupils with Autism and complex needs.

Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence through structured activities.

Support pupils during break and lunch times, fostering social and emotional development.

Assist with personal care, always maintaining dignity and respect.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider team to create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
-
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism.

Confidence and sensitivity when providing personal care.

Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

A caring, patient, and flexible approach.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.

Suitable references confirming your experience.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
