Chalk Education is currently recruiting an experienced Autism Support Worker to join an independent specialist school in Wigan.
The school supports young people aged 11–19 on the Autistic Spectrum and is Ofsted rated ‘Good’. It offers a bespoke curriculum alongside highly personalised learning opportunities, tailored to meet each student’s individual needs.
Working as part of a dedicated staff team, you will play a key role in supporting students’ learning, wellbeing, and development, while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
Key Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with Autism
- Confidence and willingness to deliver personal care where required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A caring, positive, and flexible approach to supporting young people
Additional Requirements:
- References confirming suitability for the role
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
