Chalk Education is recruiting for an Associate Head Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Knutsford. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with a strong background in social, emotional and mental health education.
We are seeking a committed professional with proven experience in leadership within an SEMH setting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving school improvement, developing staff teams, and delivering high-quality education tailored to the needs of pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
The role is full-time, with a negotiable daily rate of £200–£300 depending on experience. A formal leadership or headship qualification is desirable but not essential for the right candidate with a strong leadership background.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing strategic leadership and supporting the Head Teacher in school management
- Leading on curriculum development, safeguarding, and behaviour management
- Supporting and developing teaching staff across all areas of the school
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, families, and external agencies
- Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil progress
Essential requirements:
- Substantial experience in an SEMH or alternative provision setting
- Previous leadership experience (e.g., Assistant/Deputy/Head Teacher)
- Strong understanding of the needs of pupils with SEMH
- Excellent communication, organisation, and team leadership skills
