Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference for children with complex needs? Chalk Education is recruiting for Primary, Secondary, and SEN Schools in Stockport. We work with a variety of settings, including mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions, providing support for pupils with a range of needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, non-verbal communication, and complex learning challenges.

Schools focus on structure, routine, and positive adult relationships. Pupils are supported in calm, structured environments designed to reduce anxiety, build confidence, and encourage engagement. Staff work closely together to ensure all pupils feel understood, supported, and able to reach their potential.

In this role, you will provide tailored support, either 1:1 or in small groups, assisting with communication strategies, delivering individualised learning programmes, reinforcing support plans, and implementing interventions to develop social, emotional, and academic skills. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor pupil progress and wellbeing.

This role would suit someone who:

  • Has hands-on experience supporting children with a range of SEN and complex needs
  • Can work patiently and calmly with children who may have challenging behaviours
  • Is Team Teach trained, or happy to complete the training
  • Has experience in SEN, specialist, or alternative education settings
  • Builds positive relationships with children and colleagues
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and emotionally aware
  • Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Has experience working in UK schools

Essential requirements:

  • References confirming suitability to work with children
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)

What we offer:

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant
  • Competitive daily pay
  • Long-term, full-time roles within supportive SEN-focused environments
  • Pass on a Pal - £100 for yourself & to the person you refer!
