1:1 Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Knowsley)
Location: Knowsley | Full-Time | Immediate Start
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract Type: Long-term, Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Chalk Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a mainstream secondary school in Knowsley.
This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to provide tailored support that will help a pupil thrive both academically and emotionally.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND within the classroom setting
- Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the student
- Work closely with teaching staff and the school’s SENCO to implement individual support plans
- Promote inclusion and ensure the pupil is fully engaged in all aspects of school life
- Encourage independence, confidence, and personal development
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in a school or similar setting)
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 TA qualification) are desirable but not essential
