A vibrant and happy one-form entry primary school based in Northolt, UB5, is in need of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism and Speech and Language Difficulties. This role will start in September 2025 and continue until the end of the next academic year (July 2026).
Job Description
The ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant will have previous experience working with pupils with Autism and speech and language difficulties. The pupil has no behaviour difficulties but requires guidance to stay focused on tasks assigned by the teacher, as well as some assistance with communication.
Patience is key for this role, and ideally, you will demonstrate strong relationship-building skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant, along with the ability to raise levels of numeracy and literacy. In collaboration with the staff, you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Experience with Autism and Speech and Language Difficulties
- A practical approach to meeting the individual needs of students
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Dedication and passion for education
