Description

Chalk Education is looking for an experienced SEN TA for a mainstream primary school in Wokingham, Berkshire. The school is dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to children with a range of special needs and abilities. We are committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and enriching learning environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.

As an SEN TA within this mainstream Primary school, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the teaching and learning process, working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure our students receive the best possible education and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist in assessing students' progress and maintaining accurate records.
  • Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Offer guidance and support to Teaching Assistants and support staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement specialized interventions.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a special educational needs environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the diverse needs of our students.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
