Description
We are seeking a committed and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Warrington. This role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours, helping them to engage positively in their learning and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.

Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and behaviour support strategies.

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.

Contribute to the development of a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support student progress.
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour – essential.

Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people and helping them achieve their potential.

Full-time availability is required.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Psychology, Education, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
