Job Title: Youth Mentor

Salary: £90- £110 a day

Job Description:
Chalk education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Mentor to join a PRU in Wrexham on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful candidate will work closely with young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with challenging behaviour and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group support to young people with SEND, SEMH, and challenging behaviour.
• Foster positive relationships to promote engagement, emotional well-being, and personal development.
• Support students with their academic and social skills, ensuring inclusion within the classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Assist in creating and delivering tailored activities and interventions to meet the specific needs of students.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and reports.

Essential Criteria:

• Proven work experience supporting young people with SEND, challenging behaviour, and SEMH.
• Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people with additional needs.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
