Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Hours: Monday–Friday (school hours)
Start Date: ASAP

£90-£100 a day

About the Role

Chalk education are seeking a committed and passionate Youth mentor to join a school in Bidston on a full-time, long-term basis. This role involves working closely with pupils who may require additional emotional, behavioural, or social support to help them engage positively with school life and reach their full potential.

You will play a key role in supporting young people both in and out of the classroom, acting as a positive role model and trusted adult.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with pupils
  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Support pupils with behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement within the school environment
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil support plans

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (youth work, schools, mentoring, or similar)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Additional requirements:

  • References confirming suitability for role
  • Commitment to Safeguarding
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
