Chalk Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to work with secondary-age students in a specialist school setting in Wigan. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher with the skills and commitment to support young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and challenging behaviour.
The Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the needs of secondary age students with SEN, while also providing pastoral support and creating a positive learning environment. The role involves working closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure all learners feel valued, safe, and motivated to achieve their potential.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLLS or PTTLS
- Experience teaching secondary-age students
- Strong background in supporting young people with SEMH and managing challenging behaviour
- Resilience, patience, and a flexible approach to teaching
- A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning
