Subject Specialties Needed: Science, Music, Design Technology, Drama, Maths, English, Modern Foreign Languages, History, Geography, Physical Education, Art, Dance, Humanities, Religious Education, and General Cover.

Role Overview:

In this role, you’ll bring your communication skills and confidence to deliver engaging lessons to secondary students, filling in for regular teachers. Schools provide lesson plans, registers, behaviour management information, and other resources. (Planning and marking required only for long-term placements, which will be discussed separately.)

Requirements:

• Strong English comprehension and communication skills
• Confidence engaging with students aged 11–16
• At least 3 months’ experience in teaching, childcare, tutoring, coaching, youth work, or related roles
• Ability to manage productivity and behaviour within the classroom
• A degree or progress toward a degree is preferred
• Dedication to fostering student participation and development
• Strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with students and staff

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Driving licence and car essential
• Experience working with young people in a similar setting
• Behaviour Management skills
• Good understanding of SEND, especially mental health
• Calm and positive attitude
• Flexible approach
• Sports coaching or Psychology would be ideal but not essential
