We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Learning Assistant to join our supportive team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with speech, language, and communication needs, as well as those requiring additional learning support.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with speech, language, and communication difficulties in both 1:1 and small group settings
• Collaborate with teachers and speech and language therapists to implement tailored learning plans
• Use creative strategies to encourage language development and engagement
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
• Assist with classroom activities and general learning support as needed

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Enthusiastic, patient, and empathetic
• Experienced in working with children with SLCN or additional learning needs (preferred but not essential)
• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant experience in education, childcare, or speech and language support
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable
• Training in speech and language development or SEN support is an advantage
