Position: Special Needs TA
Pay Rate: £90 - £110 per day (DOE)
Location: Bolton, Manchester
Contract Type: Full time /part time - ASAP Start

Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with additional needs? Chalk Education is looking for skilled TAs to work in specialist primary and SEN schools across Bolton. You will support pupils who benefit from extra help to engage with learning, develop social skills, and thrive emotionally and academically.

These schools provide structured routines, small group and 1:1 support, and a nurturing environment. You’ll work alongside staff to ensure pupils feel supported, safe, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Your role will include:

• Delivering 1:1 or small group interventions for pupils with SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and other complex learning needs

• Supporting teachers with individual learning plans

• Encouraging pupils to build confidence, social skills, and communication

• Working collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching staff, and pastoral teams to monitor progress

• Maintaining a calm, structured, and positive learning environment

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting children with a wide range of SEN

• Can manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently

• Is Team Teach trained, or willing to undertake training

• Has experience in SEN, specialist, or alternative education settings

• Builds strong, positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

• Is adaptable, resilient, and emotionally intelligent

• Understands safeguarding and inclusive practice

• Has prior experience working in UK schools

Essential requirements:

• References confirming suitability to work with children

• Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service

• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
