Chalk education is currently looking to employ a SENDCo to work within a primary school in the Bolton area. As SENDCo, you will be responsible for the strategic development of SEND provision across the school, ensuring high-quality teaching and support that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential.

 Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school
• Identify and assess pupils with SEND and coordinate appropriate interventions
• Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies
• Maintain and update the SEND register and EHCP documentation
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND strategies
• Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive practices
• Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete)
• Proven experience working with children with SEND
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships

Desirable:

• Experience in a leadership or middle management role
• Knowledge of current educational initiatives and best practices in SEND
