Chalk education is currently looking to employ a SENDCo to work within a primary school in the Bolton area. As SENDCo, you will be responsible for the strategic development of SEND provision across the school, ensuring high-quality teaching and support that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school
- Identify and assess pupils with SEND and coordinate appropriate interventions
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies
- Maintain and update the SEND register and EHCP documentation
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND strategies
- Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive practices
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete)
- Proven experience working with children with SEND
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships
Desirable:
- Experience in a leadership or middle management role
- Knowledge of current educational initiatives and best practices in SEND
