An exceptional specialist school in Basingstoke provides comprehensive education to children with a wide range of additional needs, such as Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD), and behavioural challenges (EBD). They are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant like you!

In this role, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to provide personalized assistance to students with diverse needs. Whether you're helping them grasp new concepts, offering emotional support, or aiding in their daily activities, your positivity and passion will shine through.

Working closely with the class teacher, you'll implement tailored learning plans, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet the individual needs of each student. From providing one-on-one support to facilitating group activities, your patience, empathy, and creativity will be essential as you support students academically and nurture their social skills, independence, and self-confidence. Alongside the staff, you will also be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

A clean DBS and prior professional or personal experience supporting SEND children are essential for this role. Previous relevant experience could include childcare, tutoring, nursery assistance, sports settings, or similar classroom environments. If needed, we can assist you with obtaining a DBS.
