Chalk Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and inclusive SEND Secondary School based in Norris Green, Liverpool. This is a full-time position, offering an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students aged 11–16 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop key social and life skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional needs
- Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities
- Supporting students with behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
- Promoting inclusion and ensuring that all learners are supported and encouraged to reach their potential
About You
- Previous experience supporting young people with SEND, either in a school or care setting
- A calm, patient and positive approach to working with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their best
(A relevant qualification in education, childcare or SEND support would be an advantage but is not essential.)
