SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Bootle)
Location: Bootle, Merseyside
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
Pay Rate: £95 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Chalk Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEND Secondary School in Bootle. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs, and moderate learning difficulties.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning and support plans.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Encourage independence, build confidence and promote positive behaviour.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils achieve their learning goals.
About You
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based or otherwise).
- A calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting students.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of young people.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
