An outstanding specialist school in Woking provides tailored education to children with a variety of additional needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD), and behavioural challenges (EBD). They are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs. Whether helping them grasp new concepts, offering emotional support, or assisting with daily activities, your dedication and enthusiasm will have a lasting impact.
Working closely with the class teacher, you will implement tailored learning plans, adapting teaching methods and resources to suit individual students. Your role will include one-on-one support, group activities, and classroom management, all while fostering students' academic progress, social skills, independence, and self-confidence. Alongside staff, you will also be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
A valid DBS and prior experience (professional or personal) supporting SEN children are essential for this role. Relevant experience could include tutoring, childcare, nursery assistance, sports coaching, or previous classroom support. If needed, we can assist you in obtaining a DBS.
