Chalk Education is delighted to be working with an exceptional specialist school in Guildford, Surrey, dedicated to providing inclusive and high-quality education for students with a wide range of needs. These include Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Sensory Impairments (SI), and Physical Disabilities (PD).

About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.
You’ll work closely with the class teacher to adapt lesson plans and tailor learning experiences to meet individual needs. Your responsibilities will include one-to-one and small group support, assisting with classroom activities, and promoting positive behaviour and engagement. You’ll also contribute to safeguarding and ensuring the wellbeing of every child under your care.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (professional or personal)
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A proactive, caring, and flexible approach
- A valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one — we can assist with this)
- Relevant experience such as tutoring, childcare, youth work, or classroom assistance
