Are you looking for a fulfilling role where you can truly make a difference? Do you have a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? If so, this opportunity could be perfect for you!
Here at Chalk Education, we’re thrilled to be working in partnership with a specialist school in Farnborough that is dedicated to providing inclusive education for students with a range of needs—including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD), Behavioural Challenges (EBD), Sensory Impairments (SI), and Physical Disabilities (PD). The school is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their full potential. You’ll provide tailored support, whether that’s assisting with academic learning, offering emotional guidance, or helping with everyday activities.
Working closely with the class teacher, you’ll adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet each student’s individual needs. Your day will include one-on-one support, small group activities, and helping to manage the classroom, ensuring every child receives the encouragement and guidance they need. You will also contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
Patience, empathy, and creativity are essential as you support students in developing their academic skills, independence, and confidence. A valid DBS and experience working with SEN children—professionally or personally—are required. Relevant experience could come from tutoring, childcare, nursery work, sports coaching, or previous classroom support. If you don’t yet have a DBS, we can help you obtain one.
