Why this role?

This forward-thinking independent primary school in Ealing believes every child deserves to thrive, whatever their starting point. You’ll be part of a small, expert team delivering bespoke support across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping pupils with:

  • Physical disabilities
  • Specific learning difficulties (SpLD, dyslexia, dyspraxia)

  • Speech, language and communication difficulties, including ASC

If you’re motivated by genuine pupil progress and keen to see the impact of your work every day, read on.

What you’ll be doing

  • 1:1 and small-group interventions – adapt lessons, break down tasks and celebrate every win.
  • Implement EHCPs – work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to meet precise targets.
  • Use specialist strategies & tools – PECS, Makaton, sensory circuits, visual timetables, AAC.
  • Track and report progress – clear, concise feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Promote independence – equip pupils with strategies that outlast your support.

What we’re looking for

  • Recent experience supporting children with additional needs in a mainstream or special setting.
  • Calm, consistent approach; able to set firm boundaries while remaining warm and encouraging.
  • Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) English & Maths; Level 3 TA/SEND qualifications a plus.
  • Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
  • Availability for the full academic day (approx. 08:30 – 15:45) and commitment for the long term.

What’s in it for you?

  • Direct coaching from an experienced SENCO and access to ongoing CPD (Team Teach, Autism Education Trust, etc.).
  • A welcoming, well-resourced setting five minutes’ walk from Ealing Broadway stations.
  • Real progression routes – many previous TAs have moved into HLTA, therapy or teacher-training pathways.

Additional requirements:

  • References confirming suitability for role
  • Commitment to Safeguarding
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Benefits

  • Support from dedicated and knowledgeable specialist consultants
  • Continual professional development through online training
  • Competitive pay rates related to your experience
  • Opportunities within a range of schools and provisions
  • Refer a friend bonus with £150 in vouchers
