A well-known, ‘Good’ primary school based in in Islington, N7, are in need of teaching assistants with a demonstratable history of supporting pupils with Autism to join them on a full-time basis ASAP.

Job Description

This role will involve provide 1:1 and small group support and guidance to students within the Autism Unit. The successful special needs teaching assistant will need to collaborate with the class teacher and therapists to implement personalised learning programs.

As the successful SEN teaching assistant, you will be expected to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported and you will be instrumental in developing pupils social, communication, and behavioural skills. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Experience working with Autism. (PECS and Makaton knowledge highly desirable)
• Positive attitude and positive behaviour management philosophies
