Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Autism? Looking for an exciting new opportunity to make a difference?

A highly-regarded and 'Good' primary school located in Camden, NW5, is eagerly seeking dedicated teaching assistants with a proven track record of supporting pupils with Autism to join their team on a full-time basis ASAP from September 2024.

Job Description

Step into a rewarding role, where you will provide personalised 1:1 and small group support within this primary school’s Autism Unit. As a valued special needs teaching assistant, you will collaborate closely with class teachers and therapists to implement tailored learning programs that cater to each student's unique needs.

As a Primary Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported. Your efforts will be instrumental in developing students' social, communication, and behavioral skills. Alongside your dedicated colleagues, you will uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with Autism. (Knowledge of PECS and Makaton is highly desirable)
  • A positive attitude and effective behavior management strategies.

  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
