Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £100 per day (DOE)
Location: Bolton, Manchester
Contract Type: Full-time, ASAP Start
Are you an SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs? Chalk Education is currently recruiting for specialist primary and SEN school settings in Bolton, supporting children who require additional guidance to access learning and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
These schools provide structured, nurturing environments where small group or 1:1 support enables pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits. Staff work collaboratively to deliver personalised support plans, promote inclusion, and help children reach their full potential.
In this role, you will:

Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with complex SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs

Assist in delivering personalised learning, behaviour interventions, and social skills development

Support pupils in building communication, independence, and coping strategies

Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor progress and wellbeing

Maintain a safe, structured, and calm learning environment
This role would suit someone who:

Has hands-on experience supporting pupils with a variety of SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or other learning differences

Can manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently
-
Is Team Teach trained, or willing to complete training
-
Has experience in SEN, specialist, or alternative education settings
-
Builds positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
-
Is adaptable, resilient, and emotionally aware
-
Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
-
Has experience working in UK schools
Essential requirements:

References confirming suitability to work with children

An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service

Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
