Position: SEN TA
Pay Rate: £100 per day (DOE)
Location: Bolton, Manchester
Contract Type: Full-time/Part time - ASAP Start

Do you want to make a real impact on the lives of children with complex learning and emotional needs? Chalk Education is seeking committed Teaching Assistants to join specialist primary and SEN schools in Bolton. You’ll support pupils who need extra guidance to access learning, build confidence, and succeed both socially and academically.

These settings emphasise structure, consistency, and personalised support. You’ll work in 1:1 or small group settings within nurturing environments where pupils feel valued, safe, and motivated to reach their potential.

Your role will include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and other learning challenges

  • Assisting teaching staff with bespoke learning programmes

  • Helping pupils develop communication, social skills, and self-confidence

  • Collaborating with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral staff to track progress and wellbeing

  • Maintaining a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has hands-on experience supporting children with a range of SEN needs

  • Can manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently

  • Is Team Teach trained or happy to complete the training

  • Has experience in SEN, specialist, or alternative education settings

  • Builds positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

  • Is adaptable, resilient, and emotionally aware

  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusion

  • Has experience working in UK schools

Essential requirements:

  • References confirming suitability to work with children

  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service

  • Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship)
