Full-time | Long-term | £90 – £120 per day (DOE)

The Role

A forward-thinking secondary school in Camden is searching for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant ready to make an immediate difference. You’ll join a tight-knit inclusion team that refuses to let additional needs become barriers to progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group support across KS3–KS4, adapting tasks so every learner can access the curriculum.
  • Run targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy and social-skills, measuring impact against pupil targets and EHCP outcomes.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the SENCo, therapists and class teachers to keep strategies consistent and evidence-based.
  • Maintain clear, concise records and contribute to review meetings—data drives the next steps.
  • Model and reinforce positive behaviour, emotional regulation and self-advocacy.
  • Provide dignified personal-care or physio support where required (full training provided).

About You

  • Proven track record supporting secondary-aged pupils with one or more of the stated needs.
  • Calm, unflappable and solution-focused in a busy classroom.
  • Confident communicator—able to translate specialist advice into everyday practice.
  • Any of the following is a plus: Team-Teach, MAKATON, BSL L1, Manual Handling.
  • Fully available 08:30 – 15:45, Monday-Friday, for the full academic year.
