Teaching Assistant – Primary SEMH School (Liverpool)
Chalk Education are currently recruiting passionate and resilient Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a specialist primary setting in Liverpool. The school caters for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced attachment difficulties and trauma.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can thrive. Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team, you will provide tailored support to help pupils engage with their learning and build positive relationships.
Hours: 8:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals who are:
- Experienced in working with children or young people with SEND or SEMH needs
- Patient, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Skilled at building trust and rapport with children who may display challenging behaviours
- Flexible and proactive, with a genuine passion for helping young learners succeed
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with their learning, emotional regulation, and social development
- Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and resilience
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment

Start Date: Immediate and September starts available
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
Working Hours: 8:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
