About the Opportunity

Chalk Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established residential children’s home for a Residential Children’s Home Support Worker to join their team on a full-time, temporary-to-permanent basis starting in April 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting children and young people up to the age of 18 within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development. You will work as part of a committed care team to provide high-quality, child-centred support.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day care and supervision
• Supporting young people’s emotional and behavioural needs
• Encouraging independence and life skills development
• Assisting with education, appointments, and activities
• Maintaining accurate records and reports
• Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of all young people
• Working collaboratively with internal teams and external professionals

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable)
• A caring, resilient, and professional approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
• NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable but not essential)
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
