Chalk Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stage 1 in a warm, progressive primary school. This school is larger than average and has a high proportion of children with SEND as well as those from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school has excellent facilities and the long-standing Headteacher has a clear vision for the school’s future. There is a strong sense of community and staff morale is high.
In this role, the successful applicant will be able to work across the Key Stage 1 age range as directed by the class teacher. You will support pupils in the classroom as well as leading small group work particularly focussed on reading, literacy and numeracy.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
The ideal candidate will have:
- experience working with children in a Primary School environment.
- knowledge of the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
- experience working with children identified as having additional learning needs.
- a nurturing, calm approach and the ability to manage behaviour positively.

- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
