Primary Teacher (SEMH School)

Part Time (3–4 Days per Week) – PPA Cover

Chalk Education is working in partnership with a specialist primary school that supports children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Primary Teacher to join the team on a part-time basis (3–4 days per week) to provide high-quality PPA cover across the school.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils who require additional emotional support, structure and understanding to thrive in their education.

The Role:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS1 and KS2
• Provide PPA cover across a range of classes
• Support pupils with SEMH needs through structured, nurturing approaches
• Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider pastoral team
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Implement behaviour strategies consistently and effectively

The Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural needs, or within alternative provision is highly desirable
• Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with pupils and staff
• Adaptable, patient and committed to inclusive education

Strong ECTs will be considered if they can demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills, emotional intelligence, and a clear understanding of SEMH needs.
