Job Title: Year 1 Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: After February Half Term – July 2025

A mainstream Catholic Primary School in Knowsley is seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 1 Teacher to cover maternity leave. This full-time, term-time role offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to work in a supportive and nurturing environment, starting after the February half-term through to July 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality teaching to Year 1 students, following the National Curriculum.
• Plan, prepare, and assess lessons to ensure engaging and effective learning.
• Manage the classroom to create a positive and inclusive environment.
• Work in collaboration with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student development.
• Commitment to safeguarding.
• Provide differentiated support to ensure all students can succeed.
• Contribute to the Catholic ethos of the school, promoting faith-based values within the classroom.
• Implement and assess the Read Write Inc Phonics program effectively to support early literacy development.

Requirements:

• KS1 classroom teaching experience is essential.
• Knowledge and experience of the Read Write Inc Phonics program is required.
• A passion for supporting children’s learning and development in a Catholic school environment.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
