Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A fantastic and welcoming primary school in Enfield, N9, is looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism. The Role

  • 1:1 Support: Work closely with a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism, helping them engage positively in class activities.
  • Implement Specialist Programmes: Follow teaching strategies set out by speech & language therapists and occupational therapists.
  • Integration & Inclusion: Ensure a smooth transition for the pupil into mainstream classes, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Safeguarding: Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, supportive environment for all children.

Requirements

  • Proven experience supporting children with Autism (ASD).
  • Previous experience working within Key Stage 1.
  • Familiarity with PECS or Makaton (highly desirable, but not essential).
  • A calm, proactive, and nurturing attitude.

  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
