Chalk Education is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Primary SEMH Tutor to join a supportive setting in Stoke-on-Trent on a long-term temporary basis. The role would be working full time in a classroom within an education provision
This position is well suited to a resilient, committed teacher who is confident supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, including managing challenging behaviour in a positive and structured way.
The Role:
- Teaching across years 5 and 6/KS2
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEMH needs
- Managing and responding constructively to challenging behaviour
- Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons
- Working closely with support staff, SEN teams, and external professionals
Requirements:
- QTS, PTTLS, or QTTLS (essential)
- Proven experience working with SEMH and/or challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable teaching approach
- A genuine commitment to supporting pupils’ academic and emotional development
