Job description

A vibrant secondary school in Enfield, N13, serving students across Key Stages 3 and 4, is seeking enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors with an added pastoral dimension to join their team as soon as possible. If you have a passion for making a positive impact on young people’s lives—and supporting them both academically and emotionally—we want to hear from you!

The Role:

  • Support Students (Ages 11–16): Work closely with young people across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them engage in learning and develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Promote Positive Behaviour: Use creativity and energy to motivate students with challenging behaviour, ensuring they feel supported and encouraged to succeed.
  • Pastoral Support & Mentoring: Provide pastoral care by fostering strong, trusting relationships with students. Offer one-to-one guidance, run small-group sessions, and support students in managing personal or emotional challenges.
  • Safeguarding & Welfare: Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe environment and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding for all students.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with SEMH or Challenging Behaviour: Previous exposure to supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent Behaviour Management Skills: Strong abilities to defuse situations and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Energetic & Creative Approach: A proactive personality that can inspire and engage students.
  • Team Teach Training (Desirable): While not essential, having Team Teach or similar training is a plus.
  • Pastoral Mindset: Genuine empathy and a commitment to nurturing the well-being of young people, combined with the ability to offer practical support and guidance.
  • Passion for Education: A commitment to helping young people succeed and a desire to be a positive role model.

If you’re ready to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people by supporting their behaviour and providing vital pastoral care, we’d love to hear from you! Apply now and help us empower students to achieve their full potential.
