Job Title: Behaviour Mentor / Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Haringey, N15
Contract: Part-time (Monday – Wednesday) from January 2024 – July 2025

We are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor / Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with ADHD, Dyslexia, and challenging behaviours, helping to create a positive, focused learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personalised Support: Establish a trusting relationship with the pupil, offering tailored strategies to maintain engagement and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement targeted interventions and behaviour plans to address challenges and foster social-emotional development.
  • Collaborative Working: Liaise closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to ensure consistent, cohesive support and progress tracking.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Uphold a safe, nurturing environment and adhere to the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.

What We’re Looking For

  • SEMH Experience: Solid understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, with demonstrable experience supporting pupils with similar challenges.
  • Behaviour Management Skills: Proven ability to apply effective strategies that encourage positive conduct and academic engagement.
  • Passion and Dedication: A genuine commitment to helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
