Description
Chalk Education is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded mainstream school based in Runcorn.
We are currently seeking an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a mainstream provision. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.
The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and display challenging behaviours. You will play a key role in supporting their academic and emotional development, helping them engage positively with their learning environment. In addition to cover responsibilities, you will be expected to deliver lessons independently so confidence in leading a classroom is essential.
The school follows the National Curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 and takes a holistic approach to education, preparing pupils for life beyond the classroom. The setting values resilience, empathy, and consistency, making it an ideal environment for pupils with additional needs to thrive.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting children with SEMH needs
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills with subject knowledge across the curriculum
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., HLTA or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience leading a class or delivering lessons
Additional requirements:
- Valid references confirming suitability
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Strong commitment to safeguarding
