Description

Chalk Education has immediate opportunities for Cover Supervisors across Wigan, offering both daily supply work and longer‑term temporary placements. This is an excellent way to gain school experience, build confidence, and choose when and where you work.

Role Overview

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise pre‑planned lessons in the teacher’s absence. All work is provided—your role is to:

  • Keep students on task
  • Manage behaviour confidently
  • Maintain a calm, productive classroom environment

Who We’re Looking For

  • Confident communicators with students aged 11–16
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, childcare, tutoring, etc.)
  • Strong behaviour management and organisational skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and approachable individuals
  • A degree (or working towards one) is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience in sports coaching, psychology, or SEND support is a bonus

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in a structured setting
  • Suitable references
  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to apply
  • Right to work in the UK
