Cover Supervisor – Secondary School

Location: Knowsley, Merseyside
Role: Cover Supervisor (Secondary School)
Salary: £100–£110 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Term-time; typical day 08:30–16:00
Start Date: October 2025

About the Role

Chalk Education is seeking passionate and dependable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Knowsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals considering a teaching career or seeking valuable classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes using pre-prepared lesson materials
• Maintain a calm, focused, and positive classroom environment
• Keep students on task and manage behaviour according to school policy
• Support pupils with any in-class activities or safeguarding as necessary
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as delivering messages, overseeing transitions, or supervising break periods

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with secondary-aged young people (e.g., as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor)
• Strong classroom management and communications skills
• Adaptable, calm, and professional attitude
• A degree is desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service and eligibility to work in the UK
• Commitment to safeguarding and awareness of pupil needs
