Cover Supervisor – Secondary School

Location: Childwall, Liverpool
Role: Cover Supervisor (Secondary School)
Salary: £100–£110 per day
Hours: Term-time, around 08:30–16:00
Start Date: September–October 2025

Role Overview

Chalk Education is looking for energetic, responsible Cover Supervisors to support secondary school classes in the Childwall area. Ideal for graduates or teaching aspirants seeking classroom exposure and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons using pre-set resources left by teachers
• Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere
• Help students work through tasks and offer basic support
• Report back on student engagement and completed work to teaching staff
• Participate in wider school duties (e.g., break supervision, exam invigilation) as required

Requirements

• Previous experience with young people in education (e.g., TA, mentor, volunteer)
• Calm, confident classroom presence with good communication skills
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working across different subjects
• Ideally educated to degree level or HLTA equivalent, or holding relevant Level 2/3 education support qualifications
• Enhanced DBS (registered with Update Service) and right to work in the UK
• Strong commitment to pupil safeguarding and welfare
