Chalk are recruiting for a Cookery Tutor to work in a unique environment in Nottingham. This is a part-time role, Monday to Wednesday (8:45am – 4:15pm) and is available to start as soon as possible.
Our client offers bespoke learning programmes to vulnerable learners aged 11 – 16 years on the outskirts of Nottingham. Students have a range of additional learning needs that has meant they are unable to access mainstream education. These needs include Social Emotional & Mental Health issues, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Pupils may display challenging behaviour, so excellent behaviour management is essential with knowledge of a range of de-escalation techniques.
The focus of this role is engaging the learners and getting them into in the kitchen & learning new cooking skills, not necessarily working towards a formal qualification.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
To be considered for this Cookery Tutor role you will need:
- Experience as a Cookery Tutor/Teacher
- Experience working with young adults, ideally aged 11 – 16 years
- Excellent behaviour management
- Flexible and calm approach, with a caring attitude
