The school assists students aged 3-19 with a diverse range of complex needs, from Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) to Autism, Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), as well as various medical conditions and challenging behaviours.

Job Description:

In this thrilling permanent role, every day will be both rewarding and varied! You’ll provide 1:1 support to students throughout their school day, actively engaging with them in the classroom and assisting during lunch and break times to ensure they have a great experience. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the class teacher to facilitate engaging activities and help create a vibrant, safe, and supportive learning environment. Additionally, you’ll play a crucial role in safeguarding and enhancing the students' welfare, ensuring they feel valued and secure throughout their time at school. If you're passionate about making a real difference and love a dynamic, impactful role, this is the perfect position for you!

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEND and complex needs
  • To be comfortable and confident delivering personal care
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A caring and positive attitude with a flexible approach

Additional requirements:

  • References confirming suitability for the role
  • Commitment to safeguarding
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or a willingness to apply for one
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
