Seeking Teaching Assistant with Sign Language Proficiency

Are you passionate about education and skilled in sign language? We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and support our inclusive classroom environment.

Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: Sheffield

Pay: From £85 per day DoE

Type: Full-Time/Part-Time - the school are open to job shares

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teacher in daily classroom activities and management.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those who use sign language.
• Facilitate communication between hearing-impaired students and teachers.
• Develop and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of all students.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other recognized sign language.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
