Description

Position: Behaviour Mentor

Location: Cheshire East

Pay: £14 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

An Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ alternative school in Cheshire East is on the lookout for a Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated team! The entire teaching community are committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. The team prides itself on fostering a community that promotes academic excellence and personal growth for both students and staff. Could this be the role you’ve been searching for?

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students who experience behavioural challenges due to SEMH needs. Your primary focus will be working with individual students and small groups to help them develop positive behaviours and social skills. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other staff members to create and implement behaviour management strategies that foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support the implementation of individual behaviour plans and strategies.

· Work one-on-one with students who require additional support to manage their behaviour.

· Assist in the development and delivery of behaviour intervention programs.

· Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

· Foster positive relationships with students, promoting self-esteem and resilience.

· Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

· Assist in the supervision of students during breaks and lunchtimes.

· Participate in meetings, training, and professional development activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting, and a solid understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies. A clean DBS is essential, but we can guide you through the process if needed. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students are a must. Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management or special educational needs and previous experience in a similar role are an added bonus!
