Autism Practitioner – Specialist School (Primary & Secondary) – Liverpool
Location: Liverpool
Start Date: September 2025

Job Type: Full-time, long-term (with potential for permanent placement)

Chalk Education is proud to be working with a well-established specialist school in Liverpool that supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and complex needs. They are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Autism Practitioner to join their dedicated and experienced team.

This is a full-time, long-term role supporting students across both primary and secondary phases. You’ll be working with pupils with a range of needs, from high-functioning autism to more complex, non-verbal presentations, offering 1:1 support as well as small group interventions based on ability and learning style.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or adults with special educational needs, particularly Autism
  • Ability to adapt between primary and secondary age groups
  • A committed, caring, and flexible approach to support individual learning journeys
  • Must be able to commit to the role until the end of the academic year
  • Living locally to Liverpool, with the ability to drive or commute reliably

Essential Requirements:

  • SEN experience (either in education or care-based settings)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
  • References covering the last two years of employment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a professional approach
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people
  • Right to work in the UK
